Day 1: From Marrakech to the Zagora Dunes – Through the High Atlas and the Draa Valley

The departure is early in the morning from Marrakech, the vibrant red city. After meeting our guide, we will depart aboard a comfortable minibus or air-conditioned 4×4, heading towards the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest in Morocco at 2,260 meters.

Crossing the High Atlas

During the crossing of the High Atlas, you will be able to admire breathtaking views: snow-capped mountains in winter, Berber villages perched on hills, and green agricultural terraces carved into the rock. There will be scenic stops to take photographs and immerse yourself in the natural beauty.

Visit to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah

Continuing our journey, we will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This mud fortress has been a film set for many international films such as “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.”

Oasis and Draa Valley

After lunch in Ouarzazate, the journey continues through the enchanting Draa Valley, known for its date palms and traditional kasbahs. This valley stretches for over 200 km and is a perfect example of oasis life in southern Morocco.

In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Zagora, at the gates of the Sahara. Here, camel drivers will be waiting for a camel ride across the golden dunes at sunset, a magical and unforgettable moment.

Night in a Berber Nomadic Camp

The day concludes with a traditional Moroccan dinner and a night in a Berber camp in the desert, under a star-filled sky. The tents are equipped with essential comforts but maintain the authenticity of the nomadic experience.

Day 2: Return to Marrakech – A Journey of Memories

After watching the sunrise over the desert, we will have breakfast in the camp and return to Zagora on camels. From here, we will continue the journey back to Marrakech, following the same itinerary as the previous day, with stops along the way for photos and relaxation.

Scenic Stops and Lunch in Ouarzazate

The return journey includes a stop in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where you can visit the film studios (optional). After lunch, we will continue through the curves of Tizi n’Tichka to arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
